Las Vegas parking

Vegas has the biggest and the most parking garages in the world. Actually, we don't know if that statement is true. Neither of these categories appears in the Guinness World Records. But it sure feels like it could be true.
For anyone who's ever struggled to find parking in cities like San Francisco, Chicago and New York (and that's everyone, by the way), parking garages in Las Vegas will feel like a godsend. We kid you not. Parking garages here are so abundant they feel like a gift from the saint who watches over motorized vehicles.
Most hotels, shopping centers and attractions on the Strip offer giant free self-parking garages. In downtown, there are lots of huge self-parking garages too. However, it's become more common to pay to park in them, unless you're staying at or patronizing the resort. These rates are still very reasonable when compared to other cities.
One last thing to know about parking garages in Vegas: Sometimes you'll discover a security person manning the entrance. Usually they'll wave you right through. But don't be surprised if you are asked to roll down your window (Smile for the camera!), show ID or open your trunk. That happens. And on busy weekends or holidays, you may have to wait in line before you can drive in.
Here are all the logistics you need to know for accessing the parking garages in Vegas.
